Applications for the 2025 PSTM Travel Scholarships are now open to Garnes Society members. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

The Garnes Society is proud to open applications for the 2025 Plastic Surgery The Meeting (PSTM) Travel Scholarships, open for our members. This year, we are offering up to six scholarships to outstanding medical students, residents, and fellows who are dedicated to advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery while championing The Garnes Society’s mission of fostering diversity, innovation, and community impact.

Plastic Surgery The Meeting (PSTM), hosted annually by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), is the premier educational and networking event for plastic surgeons, trainees, and allied health professionals worldwide. In 2025, PSTM will be held from October 9 to 12 in New Orleans, Louisiana, bringing together the brightest surgeons in the specialty to share their expertise with colleagues from more than 80 countries.

PSTM offers participants their choice of over 200 education sessions covering a wide range of topics — from aesthetic and reconstructive surgery to practice management, wellness, and cutting-edge research and technology. This dynamic environment provides unmatched opportunities to learn, collaborate, and explore the latest advancements shaping the future of plastic surgery.

The Garnes Society’s PSTM Travel Scholarship provides crucial financial support to underrepresented trainees within our membership community. By empowering these future leaders to participate in PSTM, we help them access hands-on workshops, groundbreaking scientific discussions, and invaluable networking opportunities that will propel their careers and expand their capacity to serve diverse communities.

Eligible applicants must be active Garnes Society members who demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence, community service, and a passion for plastic and reconstructive surgery.

The recipients will receive a $1,500 travel scholarship disbursed in two parts and will share reflections on their experiences to inspire and empower our community. Applicants must submit a Statement of Interest, a CV, a letter of recommendation, and a short video essay highlighting their passion for DEIB and The Garnes Society mission. The selection committee will evaluate applicants based on leadership potential, dedication to diversity and inclusion, and alignment with The Garnes Society’s core values.

By investing in our members, The Garnes Society continues to shape a more inclusive, innovative, and compassionate future for plastic surgery. We encourage all eligible members to apply and take this important step toward advancing their professional growth and impact.
